To start your own online business, you first need to want it bad enough.

What’s a life experience that made you smack your first on the table and say "I've had enough"? Use that to propel you to pivot your career online.

Breakthrough #2: What will keep you moving forward? 🎯

Without momentum, the fastest runner in the world would even lose a race.

You've got to keep your eyes on the prize. That means figuring out what your end goals in online business are in the first place.

Imagine that you can have anything you want. The sky's the limit. What would you want for yourself or your family? Set those as your online business goals.

Breakthrough #3: What does it mean to start an online business? 🤔

Figuring out the first few baby steps you need to take to start your online business isn't always intuitive. 

Here’s our recommendations to give you the big picture:

• Decide on your business name. Keep it simple and general enough so that it can grow with you. Don't get too hung up on it!
• Decide on your business model. Are you going to be offering various courses? Is it going to be an educational course? A summit or online conference? Pick one to start with and go from there. 
• Think how you want to scale your business. Do you want to be big or small? Do you want to hire help later? Who will you hire and how? 
• Get clear on who you're going to serve. Do the market research of what exactly your client wants and needs. This ensures you create a product that sells later.
• From a marketing perspective, think of lead generation. How will you bring people into your world? What happens when they come into your world? How will you nurture their trust?

Breakthrough #4: Tackling imposter syndrome 🧠

We've all had the "I'm not good enough." thoughts at some point in our lives. 

What’s helped me and so many other OT entrepreneurs is reminding yourself that you already have the experience and expertise. You just need to be 1-2 steps ahead of your ideal client to sell them something valuable. 

Breakthrough #5: Getting over the social media boogies 😨

Everyone doesn't like being on social media, but that shouldn't have to stop you from pursuing an online business.

There are ways to show up on social media without showing your face. You can use stunning, royalty-free digital graphics of other people and things instead, or just post pictures and videos of objects instead of yourself. 

You can also tap into marketing a different way, like through email marketing or by using your existing network if you already have one established.

This also goes without saying, but you can still keep a private life on social media. You can just share the business and professional side of your life instead. 

Breakthrough #6: You don't need to be tech-savvy 💻

Starting an ONLINE business is naturally going to require you to understand some basic tech systems. But you don't need to be handling it all on your own forever.

The first step is to embrace that technology isn't going away. Then, get support, learn, and go through the growing pains of learning the tech just so you understand the systems you need to get started.

Eventually, you can hire the tech tasks out to someone like a virtual assistant. But you have to be willing to learn enough to teach them the ropes first.

Breakthrough #7: Marketing is a must! 🤳

Without marketing, we simply cannot serve our communities. We need to spread the word about the incredible products and services we have to offer to get them in the hands of the right consumers.

Once you accept that you'll have to learn some marketing to sell your digital products and services online, you'll need to learn good-feel marketing strategies from someone at least 1-2 steps ahead of you.
